Flame Shield Fire Rated Roller Shutter

A steel roller shutter door, available in electrical operation or manual operation, Available in 1/2 hour rating, 1 hr or 2hr upto 4hr rating. A fire shutter is designed to close in the event of a fire, it can be linked into a fire alarm system or to a fusible link

Successfully tested to BS476 part 22:1987 at the Warrington Fire research centre.

These shutters have assesed designs that allow manufacture in size up to 7 metres x 7 metres.

Available in ratings up to 4 hour fire resistance.

A substantially constructed emergency exit door, complete with frame, to suit individual opening requirements. This door can be fitted with a variety of locking devices and hardware.

The door leaf is manufactured with an internal frame of 40 x 20 x 1.6mm ERW box section, with 1.2mm mild steel plate to form the skin to both internal and external face.

Insulation as standard.

Threshold constructed from 50 x 6mm mild steel flat.

Window Security Shutters

We have THREE types of Domestic Shutters all made from Aluminium for superior finish, with no rusting. With the top box being 33% smaller than steel shutters they appear very much neater and generally provide a higher level of security than Steel Roller shutter. They all come as standard with an extra locking mechanism to prevent the curtain being lifted, particularly relevant on electric shutters.
All 3 types of Home Security Shutters conform to the new European Shutter Legislation introduced May of 2006, which means that they have been independently tested and do come with Anti-Drop braking systems or Extra springs to conform to this legislation.

All 3 House shutters look identical from the outside but come with differing internal specifications which provides the different levels of security.

High Security - Window Security Shutters
These have reinforced Guides and Shutter box making them stronger than the standard RA4. They have been independently tested and accredited and are Police Approved being a Secured by Design product. Only available with Electric operation.

Medium to High Home Security Shutters
As standard with strong extruded Aluminium Laths providing a higher level of security than Steel Laths. They are suitable up to 4 metres in width although we do have the RA6 that will go up to 6 metres wide if required. The shutter boxes start at 165 mms square for smaller window heights, up to a 2800 mm maximum height requiring a 205 mms box.
The solid lath comes as standard, but perforated or punched laths are also available.
The shutter curtain can be made up of one or more of these types of lath.

Low to Medium Security Domestic Shutters
These come as standard with CFC Free foam filled roller Aluminium laths. Designed for Northern Europe where cutting out light and providing Insulation are more important than Security. Effective in providing heat and sound insulation, as well as shading and light control. Suitable for opening widths up to 3400 mms, and being lightweight and therefore ideal for manual operation. A vented lath is also available if required

Chieftain Industrial Roller Shutter

Suitable for most day-to-day industrial applications such as warehouse loading bays. Manually operated by geared hand hauling chain as standard. Alternative operation by means of 3ph or 1ph industrial motor.

Selecting the right dock shelter or dock seal is vital. The application and the vehicles will all affect your choice of shelter or seal. That’s why we don’t offer standard sizes – we make to order instead.


We can supply fixed frame dock shelters or collapsible frame models. Fixed frame models form an efficient and effective seal and are ideal when vehicles are similar-sized. Collapsible frame dock shelters are ideal when different size vehicles are used and also compensate for poor vehicle alignment.

Superlath Roller Shutters

Roller Curtain
The shutter curtain is constructed from 75mm or 100mm twin interlocking cold rolled galvanized steel laths, onfilled with CFC insulation. Each lath is retained by nylon endlocks fixed and secured by steel rivets. The bottom lath incorporates a rubber seal.

Tube Motor Roller Shutters

Manufactured from 22g or 20g pre galvanised steel section perforated to allow 30% light transmission and rolled to suit a curved lath profile of nominal 75mm and flat lath profile of 50mm. Each interlocked to form continuous curtains fully secured by either steel or nylon endlocks for maintenance free movement. We recommend the curtain be either plastisol HP200 coated or powder coated. Side channels to be 50mm x 25mm steel section for extra strength. Galvanised canopies. All these can be painted or powder coated in a colour to suit.
Self coiling action with counter-balancing springs is standard. Gear operation may be provided with fixed or removable operating handle. Electrical operation is also available from 240v 50Hz single phase supply operated by push button or keyswitch. Locks would normally be omitted for electrical operation. Guides may be fixed or removable as required.

'Commander' Single Skin Roller Shutter

A self-coiling push up / pull down shutter, to cover individual openings up to approximately 9 sq meters in area. Manually operated by means of a pole and hook or by lifting handles. As a matter of preference, or to enable coverage of larger openings, electrical operation can also be offered

Industrial Insulated Steel Roller Shutters

Unlike conventional insulated steel shutters which comprise of two low grade single skin sections with poorly fitting polystyrene in-fill, the S77 is a double skin profile roll-formed from a single pre-coloured steel section with a hot injection polyurethane central core which bonds to the internal face of the section giving additional strength and rigidity. The S77 section also has a short throw reinforced quirk section which interlocks each profile to form a continuous door curtain.

Fireproof Composite Doors

Farrington Industries supplies fireproof composite insulated doors that offer the complete solution for customers needing a fire resistant insulated building envelope.

The doors are food safe, hygienic, insulated and sealed. This makes them perfect for use in food processing factories, distribution centres and chill stores when fire rating is essential.

The doors offer LPCB Product Approval to LPS 1056 and 1 hour fire rating for both insulation and integrity.

Fireproof Composite Panels

We can supply rockwool and polyisocyanurate-cored (PIR) wall and ceiling insulation panels. Both are ideal for use in cold stores, freezers, high-bay distribution centres, clean rooms, abattoirs and food production areas where fire ratings are essential.

Rockwool insulation panels are LPCB approved. They are available in insulated and non-insulated forms.

PIR insulation panels are LPCB and FM approved. They are manufactured with ODP Zero foams, which are CFC and HCFC free.

Sectional Overhead Door

A modern and attractive, up and over, panel door, suitable for meeting today's high design standards. The door is manufactured from insulation filled steel panels suspended from cables, running on galvanised steel tracks with seals to the top, bottom and sides of the full opening to protect against the elements. Each door is counterbalanced by means of helical springs at high level and can be manually or electrically operated. The door is ideally suited for installation direct on to structural steelwork, but can be fitted to masonry provided a suitable timber sub-frame is provided.
