Category Compressors

Compressors are similar to pumps in that they  both increase the pressure on a fluid and and both can transport the fluid through a pipe. As gases are compressible, the compressor also reduces the volume of a gas. Liquids are relatively incompressible, so the main action of a pump is to pressurize and transport liquids.

Compressors are highly versatile tools which are ideal for a wide range industrial and workshop tasks. The compressor is usually attached to one of a variety of other tools. In comparison to electrical tools, they provide more power, durability and are easier to use. A compressor can be used for a wide variety of functions; to power nail or spray guns, hammers, wrenches, drills and saws to name but a few. There is almost no warehouse project you can’t complete with an industrial air compressor and a few select tool attachments, making them hugely useful tools.

There are many types of compressors ranging in type and function. These include gas, screw, belt driven, single or two stage piston driven amongst others.
